Department: NM O/P CENTER-RADIATION THERAP
Coordinates various components of Cancer Program accreditation and serves as a resource to Cancer Program Administration and the Cancer Committee. Provides leadership to the Tumor Registry staff and coordinates the departments casefinding, abstracting, follow-up, and cancer conference activities. Provides Tumor Registry employee training and support, conducts quality reviews, reports cancer data to the State and NCDB, and performs other duties as assigned. Maintains thorough knowledge in cancer coding principles using the Facility Oncology Data Standards (FORDS), ICD-O, Collaborative Staging, Multiple Primary and Histology Coding Rules, and State Cancer Reporting. Maintains thorough knowledge of cancer program accreditation with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC). Must possess attention to detail, be organized and able to multi-task, demonstrate time management skills and have! excellent verbal and written communication skills.
