3+ years of Cardiac RNFA experience required. CVOR ! is required. Responsible for carrying out routine first assistant assignments (Vein Harvesting Required). Must have experience and be able to work in the role of RNFA. Cardiac team experience REQUIRED. Adherence to professional behavior a must in all interactions with patients, family, staff and physicians.

Performing established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients, utilizing age specific guidelines in a peri-operative setting. Competency in sterile technique, procedure instrumentation, and equipment.
Every other weekend and weekly call required.

Job Requirements
AORN defines the RNFA as a perioperative registered nurse who works in collaboration with the surgeon and health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The RNFA must have acquired the necessary knowledge, judgment, and skills specific to the expanded role of RNFA clinical practice. Intraoperatively, the RNFA practices at the direction of the surgeon and does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse.
The RNFAâs scope of practice is not only intraoperative, which includes retracting, tying sutures, clamping vessels and closing incisions; but can also involve pre and postoperative tasks such as taking the patient history, physical exams, patient teaching, ordering routine laboratory tests, changing dressings, removing sutures, and evaluating the patientâs overall condition and emotional status.
Requirements for this position include th! e following:
Current State RN license
Successful compl! etion of an RNFA program that meets the AORN Guidelines
Two years perioperative scrubbing and circulating experience
Two years practice as an RNFA Cardiac Surgery Services
Two to five years is preferred as Operating Room Nurse
Current BLS, ACLS ,RNFA and CNOR certifications required; CRNFA certifications preferred
Cardiac Team experience REQUIRED
