Occupational Therapist (Hand Rehabilitation)

Description: Department of Veterans Affairs is hiring Occupational Therapist (Hand Rehabilitation) right now, this position will be placed in Mississippi. The Incumbent will be responsible for planning and providing complex therapy treatment for medically involved adult and geriatric inpatients and outpatients including the Community Living Center (CLC). The Incumbent must be able to use standard and non-standard methods or evaluating and interpreting the patient's functional level and independently develop and implement a progressive treatment program. In addition, the therapist must communicate effectively orally and in writing and work effectively with other t! reatment team members. The therapist routinely functions with ! minimal supervision as a member of the Occupational Therapy team developing therapy activities and programs as necessary to enhance the role of the therapist as an active member of the health care team.
The Incumbent will have experience in Hand surgery protocols and collaborating with Hand surgeons. Designs and fabricates splints simple to complex (dynamic) as ordered by the physician. Provides Rehabilitation for conservative, pre-op and post op surgery hand cases.
