EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
Relevant and recent experience in:
- Open Source and commercial database solutions and architectures.Oracle RDBMS deployments and architectures.
- Using Oracle LINUX and/or Red Hat RHEL as OS for the database deployments.
- Deploying database solutions in microservices and using Kubernetes (K8S).
- Working with a software development team.
- Documenting source code, design architectures and technical documentation.
- Must have the nationality of one of the NATO nations
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- Relevant and recent experience in verifying functional and nonfunctional requirements (e.g. development and execution of test cases, test data, etc.)
DUTIES/ROLE:
- Analyse the current Oracle implementation
- Define a list of possible alternatives to Oracle, considering the following aspects:
- Compatibility with current architectures
- Need to minimize software changes
- Scalability, supportability, performance
- Security and vendor patching life cycle
- Attitude to containerization and compatibility with Kubernetes
- Attitude to automatic deployments
- Develop/update the analysis study and supporting documentation
- As feasible, provide identified solution existing examples or develop locally a proof of concept
- Attend virtual and in-person meetings
- The development/testing work will be carried out accessing on site engineering/test facilities in the laboratories at NCI Agency The Hague. These facilities consists of all necessary development platforms, servers, web servers, etc. to support development and testing. Shall update the status of the JTS/FAST analysis tasks in Jira. Work will be conducted locally in The Hague in JTS/FAST development lab
- Will be part of a team (project manager, technical lead, software developers, etc.) geographically distributed and will work using an Agile and iterative approach using multiple sprints
