Your role at Clorox:
The Brita team lives its mission of enabling better water for people and the planet. A huge aspect of delivering on this promise is through packaging and product innovation to enable our consumers to obtain this water when and how they need it. The product and packaging are essential vehicles to communicate both our values and value to the consumer. The Brita R&D team is seeking a consumer-obsessed product/packaging development expert to join our agile group of scientists. In this role, you will bring new ideas and innovation to our products and packaging, while continuing to deliver against the broader Clorox sustainability commitments and the Brita vision. We are looking for a technical expert to join our dedicated group to advance our purpose-driven brand.
In this role, you will:
  • Provide an R&D voice within the Brita business, focused on consumer-obsessed innovation of filters, pitcher systems, bottles, and faucet mount devices
  • Balance consumer centric innovation while advancing sustainability with technically achievable, affordable, consumer valued solutions to fulfill the Brita brand purpose
  • Provide or develop technical expertise in all Brita product areas, product development of pitcher and filtration systems, matching technology with water regulations and consumer-led execution
  • Lead technical projects, partnering with subject matter experts, cross-functional partners and project managers, contributing to work with an enterprise perspective and technical thought leadership
  • Provide a unique perspective and influence, presenting alternate perspectives to ensure all points of view are considered
  • Establish and grow relationship with external manufacturing and technology partners
  • Develop and lead product testing and validation, internally and externally, upholding a strong technical foundation and right rigor/right time mentality
  • Identify consumer needs gaps and water filtration trends and provide solutions, influencing business partners
What we look for:
  • Bachelors or Masters in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or time in applicable role(s) after college
  • Minimum: 3+ years as a product or packaging developer in consumer product goods companies or applicable field
  • Strong internal motivation, robust planning of technical and cross functional teams, critical thinking, problem solving under unique constraints, able to work independently, able to work with and through others
Workplace type:
Hybrid: This position will be onsite 2-3 days a week in our Pleasanton, CA office.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $86,600 - $161,900
–Zone B: $79,400 - $148,400
–Zone C: $72,100 - $134,900

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
