Chandler, the fourth largest City in Arizona, is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a City Magistrate. This is a full-time, exempt, unrepresented, at-will position in the unclassified service. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Presiding City Magistrate.

The Chandler Municipal Court is the Judicial Branch of the Chandler city government and is also a part of the Arizona Judicial System. The Chandler Municipal Court serves the public and contributes to the quality of life in our community by fairly, impartially, and promptly administering justice in an effective, efficient, and professional manner.
Chandler Municipal Court processes all criminal and traffic violations, obtains compliance of the court's orders, serves as juvenile hearing officers, facilitates mediation of neighborhood disputes and issues Harassment Injunctions and Orders of Protection.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded legal professional admitted to the practice of law by the Arizona Supreme Court, in good standing, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the practice of law or equivalent legal experience, including some experience in a trial courtroom setting. Along with the ability to communicate effectively and conduct and control courtroom proceedings, our new City Magistrate will also possess a reverence for the rule of law, a commitment to innovation, and model a high level of integrity, which will generate trust in the judiciary among the community they serve.
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate Degree; and five (5) years of as a practicing attorney; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Admission to the Bar in the State of Arizona and in good standing.
